Avenue 8 Holiday Gift Guide

It’s not too late to bring it home.

Last-minute gifting is going to be extra-tricky this year, with supply chain issues hitting holiday procrastinators the hardest. With that in mind, we looked far and wide to find home-themed gifts that will actually make it to their recipients before the end of the year.

We’ve included five excellent gift guides for those who need as many options as possible, along with our favorite picks from each one — which are all in stock and ready to ship.

Happy holidays!

For the DIY-inclined and garden-obsessed Curbed put together a gorgeous gift-a-day advent calendar, which among other things suggests buying some special someone an entire English greenhouse. Wildly impractical, but the start of a great idea. We’d suggest giving the gift of a wonderful project, with detailed building plans for a this D.I.Y. pyramid greenhouse that looks like a mini Louvre. Curbed Gift Guide

For the people who baked their way through the pandemic The Wall Street Journal assembled an impeccable gift guide for food and drink lovers — A.K.A. everyone — but we especially like this pick. Called, simply, “Bread Book”, it’s from Chad Robertson, founder of Tartine Bakery and the undisputed (in our book) American master of the breadmaking arts. Wall Street Journal Gift Guide

For the design-forward dog-lover Architectural Digest always puts out an essential gift guide for the home-obsessed, and this year is no different. We particularly love the Double Kismet Dog Bowl, which elevates the pet’s food station (usually a couple of ugly bowls surrounded by loose kibble) into something you’d find at Jenny Kayne. Perfect for all those new parents of a pandemic puppy. Architectural Digest Gift Guide

For the embracer of plant-based relief T Magazine’s “T List” is indispensable all year round, but especially once the holidays hit. Of all their ultra-curated picks, we love the hand-blown glass pipes from designer cannabis brand Flower by Edie Parker. They’re a cheeky and intimate gift for anyone who occasionally enjoys the recreational or medicinal properties of California’s favorite plant, and they also happen to be beautiful. T List Gift Guide

For the person who has everything, and just wants to be charmed Business of Home, a must-read for insiders in the home space, called on interior designers for their go-to gifts for every type of client. Our favorite was the beautifully wrapped gift box of a dozen ruby red grapefruit from Pittman & Davis. There’s something charming and timeless about sending someone fresh fruit at the dawn of a new year. Business of Home Gift Guide
