Morgan Hill is a city located in the Southern part of Santa Clara County, California, approximately 12 miles south of San Jose, 10 miles north of Gilroy and 15 miles inland from the Pacific Coast. I love to spend time in the newly renovated down town with it's specialty shops and restaurants.
My favorite steakhouse is Willard Hicks. (408) 763-5660 17270 Monterey Rd
The Valley is approximately 4 miles wide and surrounded by the Santa Cruz mountain range to the west, and the Diablo mountain range to the east. Parks and open spaces abound, making Morgan Hill one of the last communities in the region with a charming, small town atmosphere. Founded on November 10, 1906, the city was named after Hiram Morgan Hill, a Missouri businessman who built a country retreat home there in 1884. Originally a community of ranchers, farmers, the city has evolved into a bedroom community for the high-tech industries in Silicon Valley. Abundance of land and proximity to recreational facilities has led to a proliferation of over sized estate homes, resulting in a significant increase in real estate prices in the past decade. As of the United States 2010 Census, the city had a population of 37,882.
